Elisabeth Teige, originally from Ålesund, Norway, has established herself as one of the most interesting young dramatic sopranos in Europe. She is known for her warm, beautiful timbre, intuitive musicality and compelling stage presence.

 

Her repertoire includes roles such as Elsa (Lohengrin),

Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Senta (Der Fliegende Holländer), Leonore (Fidelio) and title roles in Tosca and Turandot. She is also a sought-after concert singer and she recently had her Vier Letzte Lieder debut.  Elisabeth is portraying her first Sieglinde in three full Ring sycles (Wagner) at Deutsche Oper Berlin this season. Over the next seasons awaits roles as Chrysothemis (Elektra), Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos), Elisabeth and Venus (Tannhäuser) and Brünnhilde (Siegfried).
